What is sophrology? A relaxation method for some, a personal development tool for others, sophrology was created in the 1960s by Alfonso Caycedo, a Colombian neuropsychiatrist. “Sophrology serves a dual purpose,” explains Laurence Roux-Fouillet, a sophrologist in Boulogne-Billancourt*. “It allows you to relax physically and mentally, in order to better cope with stress, whatever its cause.”
